A hands on professional with more than 12 years of multidisciplinary experience in the fields of Energy Management, Sustainability, Green Buildings and Engineering. Muna holds a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Sustainability and Renewable Energy from the Rochester Institute of Technology and a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Computer Networks from the American University of Sharjah and.
She is a Certified Professional Trainer from the Global Canada Center, Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Certified Measurement and Verification Professional (CMVP) and a Pearl Qualified Professional (PQP). In her professional roles, Muna is currently heading the Energy Management division at South Energy , a Dubai South subsidiary, that act as a solar leasing as well as ESCO. Also, she has been involved in the capacity of Project Manager, Team Leader, Senior Consultant and Design Engineer for iconic international, regional and local projects in the various fields of Energy Management (Auditing and ESCOs), Green Buildings Design and Construction (Estidama & LEED), Carbon Management (Inventories and action plans) and MEP Design and Construction projects.
Muna is also an Award winner of the Emirates Green Building Council - Dr. Owainati Special Student Award for the year 2015 .
With her passion in sustainability, diversified set of skills and expertise and her aspiration for society as well as professionals’ empowerment, Muna has been raising awareness and educating industry professionals and the public through capacity building programs and workshops in various disciplines such as Green Buildings, Carbon Management, Energy Management and General sustainability awareness. She has been speaking in many sustainability conferences such as Alleem Sustainable development congress , Hager Energy Forum , Green Building, Retrofit and District Cooling Seminar 4.0 and the Abu Dhabi Research and Development Conference.
