The Jordan Green Building Council (Jordan GBC), is part of a global network of 73 Green Building Councils, under the umbrella of the World GBC. It is a Non-profit and Non-governmental organization and member-based association that draws on its world-class expertise and international networks, providing internationally certified training programs, and taking on its shoulders promoting awareness and advocating for the adoption of Green Building Practices and Green Built Environment actions, with a powerful contribution from its active members and partners in supporting community of individuals and companies from all segments of the green building sector, and maximizing opportunities.
Vision: A healthy sustainable, and resource-efficient environment that is affordable and available for all individuals and local communities.
Mission: To increase and spread awareness about the green built environment, by encouraging the adoption of green concepts and practices through planning, designing and developing the green built environment in Jordan.
Values: To recognize a healthy and sustainable environment as a human right because of its positive impact on human life and effective improvements in society, culture, and economy.
The Jordan GBC works on its goals through its four pillars: Green Academy, Marketing and Outreach, Membership and Networking, and Research and Innovation. Establishing partnerships on a local, regional and international level, the council achieves its environmental, economic, and social goals by applying an important role toward the development of society and business communities, and toward environmental preservation, believing that Jordan can reap enormous benefits by the improvement in quality of life, environment preserving, energy efficiency, and increased prosperity for all segments of society.
