Dr. Iyad Al-Attar is a Mechanical Engineer, air filtration consultant and an environmental enthusiast. He is also a Visiting Academic Fellow in the School of Aerospace, Transport and Manufacturing at Cranfield University. Dr. Al-Attar received his engineering degrees from the University of Toronto [Canada], Kuwait University and Loughborough University [United Kingdom]. His area of expertise is the performance of Absolute pleated filters for HVAC and land-based gas turbine applications with special emphasis on the chemical and physical characterization of airborne particles. In 2008, the Filtration Journal, which is the official Journal for Filtration Society and the American Filtration and Separation Society, appointed him as an international member of the Editorial board from Kuwait. Recently, EUROVENT Middle East has appointed Dr. Al-Attar to be the first associated consultant for air quality and filtration affairs. He has lectured in many conferences to highlight the importance of air filtration performance in enhancing the air quality for various applications worldwide. Dr. Al-Attar has been recognized by the University of Toronto in Canada and Kyung Hee University in South Korea. He received the Editor’s Choice Award in (2017) from CPI (Climate Control Magazine) for the technical contribution illustrated in his filtration published articles. His current area of research focuses on air quality, aerosol monitoring, air filter performance for HVAC, and land-based gas turbine applications. He is active in the field of air pollution in an effort to research its control measures. Dr. Al-Attar is also the author of multiple articles in various magazines such as MEP Middle East, Facility Management Middle East, Cooling India, Electrical India, Technical Review, Oil-Kuwait, ASHRAE, Health, Safety & Security Review magazines highlighting the pressing issues of air quality. Dr. Al-Attar has recently joined Seed Platform as a leader and published his "Right from the heart".
