Dr Steve Lo is currently a Senior Lecturer in Sustainable Environmental Engineering. His areas of teaching and research interest include; High performance adaptive building envelopes, building and façade integrated PV. Dr Steve Lo gained an MSc in Energy Conservation and the Environment at the Cranfield University in 1985 and subsequent research at Cranfield on the long-term performance of passive solar energy systems led to the award of a PhD in 1990. Dr Lo has wide industrial experience, having previously worked for the Environmental Section of the R&D department of Wimpey Homes and at the Rutherford-Appleton Laboratory of the UK Science and Engineering Research Council. He also has extensive experience in the design, installation and subsequent monitoring of thermosyphon solar water heating systems, roof-space solar energy collectors and thermosyphoning air panels and large-scale photovoltaic arrays. He is the author of 30 conference papers, 17 journal publications and has made significant contributions to the chapter of a book on Advances in Solar Energy. Dr Lo is currently the Director of Studies for the MSc in Modern Building Design and is a member of the European Façade Network and is a Board member of the Society of Facade Engineering.
